Peter Zhmutski – The Rebel Without A Tie
Filmmaker, Composer, Storyteller & Public Speaker
This website is exclusively dedicated to showcasing Peter Zhmutski's artistic projects, highlighting his multifaceted career as a filmmaker, composer, storyteller, and public speaker. It features his involvement in various films, including Ratpocalypse, Diamond Cartel, Marvin’s Gift, and the 2024 biopic Reagan, where he served as Jon Voight's personal dialect coach. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Zhmutski is the founder of the Rebel 4ce ministry and the Trumpl Movement, both aimed at restoring faith, patriotism, and American values through the arts.
Peter Zhmutski was born in the former Soviet Union, in what is now Kazakhstan, and immigrated to the United States in 1998. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting from Pittsburg State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and a Master's Degree in Professional Writing from the University of Oklahoma.
With over 25 years of extensive experience both in front of and behind the camera, Zhmutski has made significant contributions to the film industry. Recognizing his numerous international film awards and achievements, the U.S. government granted him citizenship under the category of an "extraordinary filmmaker."
Zhmutski's career spans more than 25 motion pictures, primarily as a director, producer, and actor. His films have garnered prestigious awards at international film festivals, been theatrically released, distributed on major American TV networks, streaming services like Netflix and Amazon, and sold globally on DVD and Blu-ray in multiple languages.
In 2015, he produced the groundbreaking Russian-American feature, Ratpocalypse, which starred Casper Van Dien and Catherine Oxenberg. This film became the first 3D movie shot in Oklahoma and was acquired by Showtime.
His 2017 theatrical production, Diamond Cartel, directed by Salamat Mukhammed-Ali, featured renowned actors Armand Assante, Peter O’Toole, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Michael Madsen, and Tommy Lister. The film enjoyed theatrical releases in the U.S., U.K., Australia, and Kazakhstan, where it topped national box office charts.
In 2020, Zhmutski wrote, directed, and produced the teleplay Marvin’s Shining Star (also known as Marvin’s Gift). Collaborating with John Otto, Max Weitzenhoffer, and Academy Award-winning producer Gray Frederickson, the project was developed as a therapeutic tool to help troubled children address hidden traumas during counseling.
Also an accomplished composer (aka Peter Lord), Zhmutski has scored music for over ten films and performed solo piano concerts across the U.S. In 2017, he further expanded his musical career by producing projects under the group Peter and the Angels.
Zhmutski remains actively involved in Oklahoma's vibrant film community, developing various film, theater, and ballet projects. He taught film courses at the University of Oklahoma and acting at Julia’s Learning Center. A pioneer in 3D and virtual reality filmmaking, he produced UNDO, the first interactive VR miniseries, and regularly participates in international film festivals.
One of Zhmutski’s recent film projects includes the 2024 theatrical release Reagan, in which he served as the personal dialect coach to actor Jon Voight.
Today, Zhmutski leads a ministry and a movement dedicated to restoring faith, patriotism, and traditional American values through artistic expression.
